Recently, the first SKMC-1250/08 CNC Profile Gear Grinding Machine completed export packaging and is ready for shipment to a professional gear manufacturing company in Europe. With a total weight of nearly 28 tons, the machine integrates a heavy cast-iron structure, high-precision rotary table, grinding spindle, optical measurement components, and complex electrical systems. Due to its large size and precision requirements, the machine could not be transported as a complete unit.
To ensure that the machine maintains its original accuracy and performance after long-distance ocean transportation, our engineering team developed a complete modular disassembly and packaging solution. The entire machine was divided into 12 independent export packages, with customized protection methods designed for each major component.
During the entire dismantling and packaging process, all key information-including component identification, installation positions, connection interfaces, and reference points—was carefully documented. These records will support the customer's installation, commissioning, and future maintenance after arrival in Europe, ensuring efficient and reliable international delivery.
European gear manufacturers typically require extremely high standards for equipment accuracy, stability, and long-term reliability.
For this project, the customer will use the machine for precision grinding of large external gears and helical cylindrical gears in applications such as:

The SKMC-1250/08 CNC Profile Gear Grinding Machine adopts advanced profile grinding technology and delivers high-accuracy machining performance. It can process external gears up to 800 mm in diameter, achieving gear accuracy up to ISO 1328 Grade 5, fully meeting the requirements of high-end European gear manufacturers.
For large precision machine tools, international transportation is not only a challenge of weight and size but also a challenge of maintaining machining accuracy.
The SKMC-1250/08 integrates multiple precision components, including:

Based on the machine structure and installation sequence, our engineering team developed a modular packaging plan and divided the equipment into 12 main sections, including:

* Cooling and filtration system;

* Workholding fixtures;

Each module was assigned a unique identification number, with complete records of disassembly locations, connection methods, and installation requirements. This allows the European technical team to complete machine reassembly efficiently with clear reference information.
To meet international export transportation requirements, all packages were manufactured using fumigated plywood cases with IPPC certification.
Different protection methods were applied according to the characteristics of each component.
For major components such as the machine bed and column:
* Reinforced steel frame bases were used;
* Additional fixing structures prevented movement during ocean transportation.
For critical components such as the rotary table, grinding head, and spindle:
* Customized cushioning structures were applied;
* Moisture protection measures were added;

* Installation documentation was prepared for overseas commissioning.
Cooling pipelines were cleaned and secured before shipment to prevent leakage or transportation damage.
Through this systematic packaging approach, the risk of accuracy loss during long-distance ocean transportation was significantly reduced.
